Day 02 – 90 Days of AI – New Macbook
I’ve noticed that Apple has some great deals on the MacBook Air! The basic model with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB disk is priced at an amazing $799. I even considered getting an upgraded used M1 MacBook for a similar price, which is quite surprising.
Unfortunately, I require some extra upgrades for my AI tasks and coding needs, like a larger screen, more storage, additional RAM, and extra ports. These upgrades seem worth the extra cost, which is about double the price of the basic MacBook Air. At least the MacBook Pro has also seen a price drop of a couple of hundred dollars, which is nice.
Today is all about reinstalling everything from my old MacBook. I’ve decided that I’m not a fan of the Windows laptop touchpad. I want to dedicate this new laptop solely to productivity and standalone use. My old MacBook is always connected to external hard drives, and it complicates things when I try to transfer data from an SD card to the computer through the same USB-C dock.
Most of my day will be spent setting up all the software I need for productivity, including IDEs for coding and other essential apps.
For sure the speakers are nice compared to my old macbook. Keyboard needs a little getting used to. Seems a little flat compared to my m1 macbook. The additional ports will be huge for me i think.
